Cafe La Vie Review
Cafe La Vie inside Le Meridien Hotel in Clayton Missouri is not your ordinary hotel restaurant. My friend and I were invited to dine here and I’m so happy we did. Their food is amazing and the ambiance is next level. The menu has recently been updated for winter time and they have some delicious options.
We tried the Beef Tartare and the Galette small plate appetizers and they were both delicious. It was my first time trying Beef Tartare and I was surprised how much I loved it. The hollandaise sauce really complemented the seasoning of the beef and the truffles sprinkled on top.
The Galette was my favorite thing I have eaten in a long time - I’m a sucker for a savory pastry dish and this hit the nail on the head. The Galette is a puff pastry made with brown butter roasted squash, garlic, and caramelized onion.
For dinner I had the traditional French dish of Cassoulet and my friend had the Seared Scallops. She said her scallops were cooked to perfection and I loved how delicately crispy my duck thigh turned out.
You’re missing out if you don’t have a couple cocktails as well- my favorites are always sweet or sour so I went with the Lemon Drop Martini and the Speyside Sour and both were amazing.
For dessert we had two classic French desserts - the Creme Brulee and the Profiterole. Highly recommend the Creme Brulee with it’s carmelized crunchy top and creamy middle.
Highly recommend you visit Cafe La Vie in the Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton Hotel as soon as possible! I hope this Cafe La Vie review showed you that not all hotel restaurants are created equally and some of them are true hidden gems!
