Yemanja Brasil Restaurant Review

    Brazilian Food

Delicious appetizers, sangria with fresh muddled fruit, and fun decor? Sign me up! My husband and I had the best time at Yemanja Brasil for dinner and drinks in St. Louis. This amazing local small business has been around for a long time but has had a rough go of it (as many small restaurants have) these past two years. Yemanja Brasil definitely deserves to stay open and continue to serve their loyal fans and community with their delectable dishes.

    Location & Vibe

Yemanja Brasil is located in the historic Benton Park neighborhood in St. Louis. The space is so fun and welcoming with lush greenery, eclectic art, and bright décor. You will instantly be transported to the owners’ home country of Brazil. There is a surprising amount of seating for any event you may need a space for both inside and on the patio. There’s even a bar, a foosball table, and a selfie area in the upstairs event space that you could request for your event or party.

    Yemanja Menu

The Brazilian menu at Yemanja Brasil is out of this world! They let us try many of their small plates and appetizers and I was truly blown away. My favorites were probably the torradinhas leme and empanadas de bife (pictured below). I also had the best sangria of my life that night. We will definitely be returning to try more Brazilian fare and I can’t wait! See more details on the dishes I tried below.

  • Empanadas de Bife aka beef empanadas at Yemanja Brasil Restaurant St. Louis

    Empanadas de Bife

These empanadas were so crisp and flaky on the outside with savory seasoned beef filling served with fresh tomato dipping sauce.

  • Aipim Frito Yuca Fries at Yemanja Brasil Restaurant St. Louis

    Aipim Frito

The yuca is a root vegetable similar to a potato, and it’s what they commonly use to make fries in Brazil. These yuca fries (Aipim Frito) from Yemanja were crispy and delicious and taste like french fries that are slightly more dense than the potato variety. They came with a spicy curry-parmesan dipping sauce that I really enjoyed too.

  • Brazilian Steak Kabob and Sangria Yemanja Brasil Restaurant St. Louis

    Steak Kabob and Sangria

This Brazilian steak kabob was flavorful and delicious but the standout here is actually the sangria. The bartender muddled the fresh fruit in front of me and mixed this concoction from scratch. I’ve drank a lot of sangria in my life and this was THE BEST.

Highly recommend trying Yemanja Brasil for your next date night (or friend date) out in St. Louis. Their food and drinks are out of this world. The unique atmosphere of their restaurant and the high quality of the food and drinks make it a great restaurant for any occasion.
