City Museum St. Louis
Food Options at The City Museum St. Louis
There are not a lot of food options at the City Museum in St. Louis but you can usually find some kid friendly fare to tide you over. If not there are a ton of great restaurants in St. Louis to choose from.
When we visited unfortunately most of the options were closed or unavailable but my boys did enjoy some Dippin Dots icecream. Moral of the story: don’t rely on their food options here and have a back up plan for food when visiting.
City Museum Rooftop
The rooftop at the City Museum is unlike any rooftop you’ve been to. There’s a giant praying mantis, an out-of-commission school bus, a giant slide and more! The rooftop is open March through October and is free for Gold Members of the Museum.
City Museum 10 Story Slide
The 10 story slide at the City Museum is not for the faint of heart. You have to first climb up 10 flights of spiral staircase to reach the top of the slide. Make sure you don’t have any loose clothing or a bag because they won’t let you take it down with you. I had to climb the 10 flights twice because I had to bring my purse down to my husband before I could ride the slide. You also must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the 10 story slide. Be prepared to get dizzy going in circles for 10 stories down too!
How to get to 10 story slide at City Museum?
To get to the 10 story slide entrance at the City Museum, start at the caves and start climbing up. You have to climb up 10 flights of spiral staircase to ride the slide back down. You can see the cool organ and hole in the ground to the caves when you exit the slide.
The Caves at City Museum
The caves at the City Museum are a maze of unique structures and narrow tunnels under the museum. All ages can enjoy the caves but only little visitors can fit through some of the smaller tunnels under the City Museum.
