City Foundry STL
What is there to do at the St Louis Foundry?
Things to Do at The City Foundry STL
The City Foundry STL in Midtown St. Louis is one of the best new developments this decade for the city. They have turned this area into the place to hang out for people of all ages because of the variety of restaurants and things to do at the Foundry.
City Winery St. Louis
One of the newest restaurants at City Foundry STL is the addition of City Winery. While it is not a local restaurant, the boutique chain offers a great variety of wine and bites along with a great venue for local artists and musicians.
Wine Tastings, Concerts, and more!
If you’re looking for a great venue to host your next party or event, the City Winery at City Foundry STL has a lot to offer. They have multiple spaces you can rent out along with an in house sound system and stage. There is also tons of wine to choose from and a fabulous catering menu. The City Winery also hosts lots of concerts every week and you can buy tickets on their website in advance.
Puttshack St. Louis
All of the venues at the City Foundry St. Louis have great food options and you might be surprised to learn that Puttshack is no exception. We got to attend an influencer event at Puttshack St. Louis and were blown away by their menu- both for cocktails and food. They have a diverse and worldly menu with non-basic bar food. Check it out to see what I mean.
Mini Putt St. Louis
So we’ve covered that the drinks and food at Puttshack St. Louis are amazing but the mini-putt game itself shouldn’t be overlooked. The mini putt St. Louis courses are lit up, exciting, and have fun pop music playing. It feels like a combination between a nightclub and the mini putt you grew up playing as a kid. Make sure you get there early or make a reservation online in advance so you don’t spend all night waiting to play.
Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis
The Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis is another example of a small chain establishment that fits perfectly into the ecosystem of the City Foundry STL. The drafthouse/restaurant/theater combination is a great one as it’s a one stop shop for entertainment, food, and drinks.
Movies St. Louis
I would definitely say that the Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis Theater is the best place to watch movies in St. Louis. They have an extensive food and drink menu that you can order from your seat in the theater. They also have fun theme nights and show old movies too. See what’s playing now at the Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis theater.
City Foundry Food Hall
Another great thing to do at the City Foundry STL is to try out some of the delicious local restaurant stands at the City Foundry Food Hall. There are a ton of options to choose from from asian inspired tacos to waffles to toasted ravioli. Read more about the City Foundry STL Food Hall here.
Shop at City Foundry STL
There are several super cute shops to check out at the City Foundry in St. Louis. Shop for clothing, gifts, skincare, art, jewelry, and more! One of my favorite shops is Procure - The Women’s Creative Shop because they showcase local female artists and designers (and the shop is beautiful). There is also a Fresh Thyme grocery store at the Foundry St. Louis where you can get your regular groceries as well as locally made products too.
Event Spaces STL
There are multiple options to host events at the City Foundry STL. Like I mentioned above, you can host an event at City Winery or Puttshack, or you can use one of the designated event spaces. City Foundry has an event space called 18 Rails by Butler’s Pantry that can seat up to 300 people. You enter the event space directly from the City Foundry Food Hall. This would be such a fun space for a wedding reception or corporate event.
City Foundry STL Parking
One of my favorite things about visiting the City Foundry St. Louis is that they have a large and FREE parking garage. I’ve always been a country girl and have never learned how to properly parallel park, so this is such a joy to me every time I visit.

What did the STL foundry used to be?
The STL Foundry used to be Century Electric about 100 years ago. When it was built in 1929, Midtown St. Louis was an area for manufacturing and industry due to its proximity to the railroad line. Over the years the site changed hands several times but was always used for manufacturing until 2007 when it shut down due to the recession. Construction on the current City Foundry STL started in 2018 and lasted about 18 months.
