Circus St. Louis

The Big Top St. Louis

There are several seasonal circus performances in St. Louis, most of which are performed at The Big Top, which is an event venue in the Grand Center Arts District of St. Louis. The Big Top is run by the Kranzberg Arts Foundation and features state-of-the-art sound production, lights, and video.

Circus Flora 2023 Under cover

My family and I had the opportunity to see the Circus Flora show this year under the Big Top and it was so much fun! The theme was “Under Cover” for 2023 and my boys loved the secret agent storyline that went along with the incredible circus acts. There were tightrope walkers, acrobats, clowns, talented animals, and more!

Circus St. Louis

Seeing a circus show is such a timeless attraction for people of all ages. Circus Flora does a great job of appealing to all ages while remaining family friendly. My kids were in awe at what the circus performers could do and would go back to see the circus in a heartbeat.

Are there animals in circus flora?

  • Yes, there are animals in Circus Flora. The Circus showcases some very talented dogs, camels, and even a pig!

Which animal is not in the circus?

  • Circus Flora no longer uses elephants because of multiple issues including an incident with their namesake elephant, Flora. Elephants are often abused and mistreated in circuses, thus many animal rights activists have called for them to be taken out of all circus performances. Circus Flora is actually named after an orphaned elephant that they rescued and was a part of the circus for 15 years before retiring to an elephant sanctuary in Tennessee.

Circus Flora Tickets

  • Unfortunately the 2023 Circus Flora season is over but hopefully they will be back in 2024! Check the Circus Flora website for updates.

How long is the circus flora show in st. louis?

  • The 2023 Circus Flora show in June was 75 minutes long with an intermission approximately halfway through.

I hope your family has the opportunity to see a circus in St. Louis soon and enjoys it as much as we did!
