When people think of St. Louis they often first think of STL Cardinals Baseball. I LOVE going to Busch Stadium to watch a Cardinals game for the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere. St. Louis is such a fun and welcoming city and you can really feel that at our Cardinal games.

When to Visit Busch Stadium
Cardinals games are fun anytime but if you have a regular seat (and not an indoor box seat) I recommend going in the late spring or early summer before it gets super hot in St. Louis. Early fall is also an option but you may be getting into the more expensive post-season games.

How to get to Busch Stadium
If you’re coming from the Illinois side (like I am) its a great idea to drive to your closest MetroLink and take the train into the city. There’s a stop right at the stadium and you’ll save yourself gas money and the hassle of trying to get out of the city during post-game traffic. If you’re visiting from out of town I recommend staying at Live! by Loews or one of the Union Station hotels (The Drury Inn or the Hilton St. Louis Union Station Hotel) and walk.

Why did the St. Louis Cardinals change their name?
In 1881 an entrepreneur named Chris Von Der Ahe purchased a team he named the St. Louis Browns and entered them into the American Association baseball league. In 1892 the Browns were taken over by Stanley and Frank Robison and renamed the Perfectos. After only one year as the Perfectos the name was changed to the Cardinals, they joined the National League and the rest is history!

Cardinal Way Garage and Starr Lot parking spots can be purchased with your Cardinals game ticket online. These two lots are the two closest parking lots to Busch Stadium.
If you’re coming from Illinois I highly recommend taking the Metro to the Busch Stadium Metro Link stop. The Metro stop by Busch stadium is located just across the street and is only a few dollars both ways. Much cheaper than paying $15 or $20 to park in one of the lots near the stadium.

Ballpark Village at Busch Stadium is a group of restaurants, bars, and shops. Find everything from poke bowls at Koibito Poke to BBQ at Salt + Smoke. Ballpark Village restaurants have something for everyone and they’re expanding in 2023 to include even more! I know I’m super excited for Katie’s Pizza and Pasta Osteria to join the village this year!

The closest restaurants to Busch Stadium will be the ones at Cardinals Ballpark Village. They have a wide array of cuisine as well as several bars and shops to entertain pretty much anyone!
